Uber has announced a strategic collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to improve transportation services at Prayagraj Airport during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The move comes as Prayagraj prepares to host millions of pilgrims and visitors for one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. Uber aims to ensure a seamless travel experience for the expected 40 crore attendees by providing efficient mobility solutions.

This partnership follows an MoU signed in April 2023 between Uber and AAI to expand services across multiple airports in India. Uber already operates at 20 AAI airports and continues to extend its presence to meet growing demand, particularly during major events like the Maha Kumbh Mela. Uber’s involvement will significantly improve connectivity for travellers arriving at Prayagraj Airport, offering reliable transportation through dedicated pickup zones, on-ground support, and clear signage to guide passengers to their rides.

Director of Prayagraj Airport, Airports Authority of India, remarked, “As Prayagraj gears up to welcome millions of pilgrims for the Maha Kumbh Mela, ensuring seamless and reliable transportation is paramount. Our collaboration with Uber is a significant step toward enhancing passenger convenience and supporting the city’s infrastructure during this monumental event.”

Uber will also provide a special offer of 25% off up to Rs 200 for rides starting from Prayagraj Airport, contributing to a cost-effective travel experience. Shiva Shailendran, Director of Supply Operations at Uber India and South Asia, added, “We are excited to join hands with the Airports Authority of India at Prayagraj Airport to streamline the mobility experience for travellers and pilgrims. Our goal is to ensure smooth, convenient, and comfortable movement throughout this significant event.”

This partnership is expected to create additional earning opportunities for Uber drivers in the region while enhancing the overall airport mobility experience
