Tourism Pahang is advancing its engagement with the Indian travel trade through the Pahang Roadshow to India 2025, held on 24 September in New Delhi and 26 September in Chennai. The B2B initiative seeks to foster stronger collaboration between Pahang, Malaysia’s largest state in Peninsular Malaysia, and India, one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing inbound tourism markets.
Organised by Tourism Pahang, the roadshow features networking sessions, destination presentations, and product showcases designed to connect Pahang’s hospitality and tourism operators with leading Indian travel agents, tour operators, airlines, media, and industry associations.
India continues to be among Malaysia’s top tourism source markets, contributing more than one million arrivals annually. Factors such as visa-free entry, direct air links, and cultural affinity make Malaysia an attractive choice for Indian travellers. Pahang, home to destinations including Genting Highlands, Cameron Highlands, Tioman Island, Cherating, and the Taman Negara rainforest, is positioning itself as a versatile option for leisure travellers, families, honeymooners, and MICE groups.
“This roadshow is more than a promotional exercise – it is a platform to build lasting partnerships with India’s vibrant travel community,” said YB Puan Leong Yu Man, Chairman of the Pahang State Committee on Unity, Tourism and Culture. “We are excited to introduce Pahang’s hidden treasures and iconic destinations to Indian travellers and tourism stakeholders.”
A high-level delegation is leading the initiative, including YB Puan Leong Yu Man, Chairman of the Pahang State Committee on Unity, Tourism and Culture; YB Arumugam A. Veerappa Pillai, Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly; Kamaruddin bin Ibrahim, General Manager, Tourism Pahang; and Ms Nalini Letchumanon, Senior Manager, Promotion & Event Management, Tourism Pahang. The delegation is joined by hoteliers, resort operators, destination management companies, and other tourism businesses from Pahang.
The Pahang Roadshow 2025 highlights opportunities across MICE, luxury weddings, eco-tourism, rail tourism, heritage experiences, and slow travel. Tailored tour packages, co-marketing initiatives, and B2B collaborations will be showcased to Indian travel partners seeking to diversify their Malaysia offerings. Each city’s programme also includes a press conference and networking luncheon to strengthen engagement with Indian media and associations.
By expanding its presence in India, Pahang aims to reinforce tourism ties and attract a wider spectrum of Indian travellers, contributing to the continued growth of Malaysia’s inbound market.
