A Groundbreaking Event at Kannur International Airport, ETTravelWorld

The third edition of the North Malabar Travel Bazaar (NMTB) will be held on November 15–16, 2025, at Kannur International Airport, setting a national first by hosting a travel mart within an airport terminal. The initiative aims to redefine tourism promotion in India while spotlighting the untapped tourism opportunities of the North Malabar region.

The event is being organised by the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Entrepreneurs of North Malabar, the North Malabar Tourism Organisation (NOMTO), Kannur International Airport, and Metro Mart. By bringing together industry stakeholders under one roof, the Travel Bazaar seeks to position North Malabar as a prominent domestic and international tourism destination.

More than 100 tourism-linked enterprises, including hotels, resorts, homestays, houseboats, Ayurvedic institutions, travel agencies, hospitals, and destination management companies, will participate. Approximately 500 invited tour operators from across India are expected to attend, creating opportunities for business-to-business meetings and long-term partnerships.

The two-day programme will focus on enhancing North Malabar’s tourism circuits and promoting its mix of culture, heritage, and natural attractions. Seminars will cover topics such as spiritual tourism, cruise tourism, health and wellness, and MICE and wedding tourism. Cultural performances, culinary showcases, and business presentations will give participants an immersive experience of the region’s traditions and lifestyle.

Kannur International Airport Managing Director, C. Dinesh Kumar, said the airport is working to strengthen connectivity and improve tourist facilities, extending full support to NMTB. North Malabar Chamber of Commerce President, T.K. Ramesh Kumar, noted that the event will give tour operators first-hand exposure to the region’s tourism offerings. Chamber Secretary, C. Anil Kumar, added that the long-term goal is to double tourist arrivals in North Malabar. NMTB CEO, Siji Nair, highlighted that the Bazaar is designed as an inclusive platform for all stakeholders, from homestays to luxury resorts, and will also feature workshops to help entrepreneurs market tourism products more effectively.On the second day, the Travel Bazaar will be open to the public, offering access to a wide range of special travel packages. Entry will be free with advance registration.

With its unique venue, wide participation, and emphasis on inclusive growth, the 2025 edition of the North Malabar Travel Bazaar is expected to set new benchmarks for tourism promotion while creating sustainable opportunities for the region.
