Inaugurated at India Energy Week by Prime Minister of India, Goa Gets a ₹800-Crore Global Convention & Expo Hub

The International Convention and Expo Centre, Goa, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India during India Energy Week 2026, marking a major step in India’s next-generation civic and institutional infrastructure. The inauguration, coinciding with one of the world’s leading global energy gatherings, establishes the facility as a key hub for international dialogue, collaboration, and innovation.

The project, valued between INR 750–800 crore, reflects a shared vision between the Government of Goa and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), the project’s owner, to strengthen Goa’s global standing as a venue for knowledge exchange and large-format events. The initiative aligns with India’s commitment to sustainable tourism, environmental sensitivity, and regional identity.

Engineers India Limited (EIL) provided project management, engineering coordination, and execution oversight, while the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, played a key supporting role in integrating the development within India’s wider MICE infrastructure strategy.

Designed by CP Kukreja Architects, one of India’s leading multidisciplinary architecture and urban design firms, the International Convention and Expo Centre features state-of-the-art facilities including:

Convention Centre Area: 21,425 sqm (2,30,620 sq ft)

Management Training Facility: 9,430 sqm (10,500 sq ft)

Exhibition Hall: 7,807 sqm (85,000 sq ft)

Convention Hall Capacity: up to 4,200 delegates

Dikshu C. Hosting India Energy Week here reaffirms the role of thoughtful design in enabling meaningful exchange, collaboration, and long-term impact. The project also aligns closely with the vision of Viksit Bharat articulated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”

CP Kukreja Architects has previously designed several national landmarks including Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Ayodhya Vision & Master Plan, and Aerocity, New Delhi. The firm has received international honours such as the People’s Choice World Expo Award (USA, 2022) and ranking among the World’s Top 100 Architecture Practices by WA100.

The International Convention and Expo Centre, Goa, stands as a symbol of India’s architectural innovation and its growing capacity to host large-scale global events, advancing the nation’s MICE and tourism infrastructure for the Viksit Bharat era.
