Skal International India has confirmed that Skal International Coimbatore will host the Skal International India National Congress (SINC) 2026, following a closely contested bidding process that also included Skal International Jaipur and Skal International Jammu & Kashmir.
The decision was announced after the National Board of Skal International India voted in favour of Coimbatore’s proposal, which stood out for its holistic B2B focus, value-led structure, destination preparedness, and consistent contribution to strengthening tourism industry engagement across India. The final event dates will be announced soon, taking into account the national tourism calendar and key industry events.
Sanjeev Mehra, President, Skal International India, said:
“We congratulate Skal International Coimbatore on winning the bid to host the Skal International India National Congress 2026. Our national congresses have become vital platforms for leadership, collaboration, and strategic exchange within the tourism sector. We look forward to working closely with the Coimbatore team to deliver a successful and memorable Congress.”
Ramesh Chandrakumar, President, Skal International Coimbatore, added:
“We sincerely thank the National Board for entrusting us with this responsibility. Hosting the National Congress is both an honour and a privilege. Our team is fully committed to delivering an event that embodies the spirit of Skal—friendship, professionalism, inclusivity, and responsible tourism.”
Skal International India is among the most dynamic and influential national organisations within the global Skal movement, comprising 20 active clubs and several new clubs under formation. The organisation serves as a critical connector of tourism decision-makers across travel trade, hospitality, aviation, media, and allied sectors. Its consistent focus on transparent governance, sustainability, and youth engagement has strengthened India’s leadership within the global Skal network.
The recently concluded SINC 2025 in Mumbai set new benchmarks in participation, sustainability, and industry collaboration, reinforcing Skal India’s leadership in promoting responsible tourism. SINC 2026 in Coimbatore is anticipated to build on this success as a strategic platform for dialogue, innovation, and growth across the national and global tourism landscape.
Coimbatore’s unique mix of industry, culture, wellness, and nature positions it as an ideal host for a congress of this scale. As a gateway to the Western Ghats, the city connects seamlessly to destinations such as Ooty, Coonoor, and Valparai, offering scenic landscapes, plantation trails, and nature-based experiences. With its robust hospitality infrastructure and authentic Kongunadu cuisine, Coimbatore offers a distinctive blend of business efficiency and experiential appeal.
Recognised for its CSR initiatives and active engagement, Skal International Coimbatore has built a reputation as one of India’s most proactive and community-driven clubs. Its operational preparedness, member involvement, and destination promotion were key factors in securing the hosting rights.
Backed by a strong national organisation, an experienced host club, and a destination that embodies both enterprise and warmth, SINC 2026 is expected to serve as a milestone event for Skal International India, reinforcing India’s growing voice in global tourism and hospitality leadership.
