The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) India Chapter has announced the 4th edition of its flagship Tourism PowerHouse, presented by the Inder Sharma Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Tourism. The event will be held on 8 January 2026 at ITC Maurya, New Delhi.
Recognised as one of India’s foremost tourism knowledge and advocacy platforms, the Tourism PowerHouse convenes global tourism leaders, policymakers, and senior industry professionals to facilitate dialogue, exchange insights, and build actionable strategies for India’s tourism growth. The 2026 theme, “Accelerating Tourism for Tomorrow: Powered by Data and Knowledge,” highlights the forum’s focus on equipping stakeholders with advanced tools and insights for navigating a fast-evolving global travel landscape.
The Inder Sharma Foundation’s continued association underscores the legacy of the late Inder Sharma, a visionary tourism entrepreneur whose leadership and commitment to India’s tourism excellence continue to inspire the sector. His belief in leveraging global learning and data-driven decision-making remains central to the Tourism PowerHouse’s purpose.
The 2026 edition will feature PATA CEO Noor Hamid and Additional Secretary and DG Tourism Suman Billa as lead speakers, alongside global thought leaders including Dr Senthil Gopinath, Prof Haiyan Song, Alan Merschen, Olivier Ponti, Anita Mendiratta, Matt Gibson, Ludwig Rieder, and Narzalina Lim.
The forum aims to generate outcomes aligned with both national and state tourism priorities. It will foster knowledge transfer through direct engagement with international experts, support policy development on aviation, crisis management, and technology adoption, and strengthen India’s destination competitiveness. A key objective is to help states benchmark their strategies against global standards, enhancing India’s visibility under Brand Incredible India.
By deepening collaboration between the public and private sectors, the Tourism PowerHouse seeks to accelerate sustainable tourism growth to, from, and within India. Building on the Inder Sharma Foundation’s legacy, the 2026 edition reaffirms its mission to nurture leadership, develop talent, and drive excellence across India’s travel and hospitality sectors.
